ABOUT THE ARTIST
" I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for." – Georgia O’Keefe

Tony Palmieri, AIFD
A member of the American Institute of Floral Designers since 1994, Tony has received several first-place honors in local and regional design competitions. His roots in graphic design, combined with a distinct Asian influence and a taste for the surreal, add a sculptural edge to the contemporary work for which Datura is well-known.

As an accredited member of AIFD, Tony is part of a world-wide artist community committed to promoting the highest professional standards in floral design. This affiliation fuels his drive to innovate by providing education through national design symposia, which feature top floral design experts from around the world.

Artists who have moved him are Andy Goldsworthy, Ernst, Mucha, Dali, Tori Amos, Tom Waits, Neil Gaiman, Tom Robbins and Hitomi Gilliam, but none have inspired him as much as his kids.
